About Fathers Are Essential

Who we are, What we do, and Why it's important

Fathers are Essential is an empowered group of men and women who advocate for a child's right to see their father. Children need to grow up with a positive male influence in their lives. Studies show that children who grow up in single parent homes with just their mother, have a higher likelihood of teenage pregnancy, obesity, drug and alcohol addiction, and have a higher risk educational failure and higher risk of teenage suicide.

Ideally children grow up in homes with their families intact but the studies show that children growing up with just their fathers have the same statistical likelihood of success as those children who grow up with both parents.
